Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Saucier is operated by HAYi LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it refers to HAYi LLC.

2. What We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive and store your Apple User ID. We do not receive or store your email address or password. Your Apple identity token is verified once and discarded.

Profile data. You may optionally provide dietary preferences, food allergies, favorite cuisines, cooking skill level, and kitchen equipment. This helps the AI personalize recommendations.

Conversations. Your messages to the AI chef, including any photos you share, are stored on our servers. The AI's responses are also stored. This history powers your ongoing conversations.

Recipes and shopping lists. Recipes generated by the AI or created by you, along with shopping list items, are stored on our servers and tied to your account.

Chef memory. The AI extracts long-term cooking preferences from your conversations — things like flavor affinities, ingredient preferences, and technique observations. This memory makes the AI more helpful over time.

Usage data. We track the number of AI tokens consumed per request to enforce usage limits and manage costs. We do not track which screens you visit, how long you use the app, or any behavioral analytics.

Subscription status. If you subscribe to Saucier Pro, we store your subscription status and Apple transaction ID for verification. We never see or store your payment method — Apple handles all billing.

Local settings. Preferences like unit system, temperature unit, and haptic feedback are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. These are never sent to our servers.

3. What We Do Not Collect

5. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude API). When you send a message, your message text, relevant conversation history, chef profile, and chef memory are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the AI response. If you include a photo, the image data is also sent. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. We use their API with zero-retention data processing — your prompts and outputs are not used to train Anthropic's models.

Apple. We use Apple Sign-In for authentication and StoreKit 2 for in-app purchases. Apple processes your sign-in and payment data according to their privacy policy. We never receive your Apple ID password or payment details.

No other third parties. We use no analytics services, no crash reporting tools, no advertising networks, and no social media SDKs. The iOS app contains zero third-party dependencies — it is built entirely on Apple's frameworks.

6. Data Security

• Encryption at rest: Sensitive data (profile, conversations, recipes, shopping lists, chef memory, subscription status) is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage.
• Encryption in transit: All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS.
• Keychain storage: Your authentication token is stored in the iOS Keychain, the most secure storage available on your device.
• Key management: Encryption keys are managed through a dedicated secret manager in production.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Conversations, recipes, shopping lists, and chef memory persist indefinitely to provide a continuous experience. Security audit logs are retained for compliance purposes.

When you delete your account, all associated data — including conversations, recipes, shopping lists, chef memory, profile information, and usage logs — is permanently deleted from our servers.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — Your conversations, recipes, shopping lists, and profile are all accessible within the app.
• Delete your account — You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app.
• Correct your data — You can update your chef profile and edit your recipes at any time.
• Withdraw consent — You can stop using the app at any time. Deleting your account removes all server-side data.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. To exercise any data rights not available through the app, contact us at the address below.

9. Children's Privacy

Saucier is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information.

10. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use Saucier from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Saucier after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
